Sanitizr, a well know maker of UV sanitizing lights, has expanded to launch a retail sales division.

Sanitizr, a well known maker of hospital-grade UV light products, has launched a new retail sales division in hopes of helping consumers stay amid current times.

The company has been working with healthcare providers for years but just recently decided to take their talents into the retail space. “Consumers deserve to have the same quality UV-C sanitizing lights as hospitals and healthcare centers. We’re trying to bring these products to consumers at a fair price,” said Bill Parsons, National Sales Manager for Sanitizr.

With a good UV light sanitizing device, you can clean surfaces like desktops and door handles, sinks and toilets, or those items that are always with you, like your phone. And by the way? You should really clean your phone from time to time. According to multiple studies, our phones are about the dirtiest objects in our lives, harboring on average nearly 20,000 distinct types of bacteria.

Sanitizr is taking UV technology that is used in hospitals and giving it to consumers to use in their homes.

Ultraviolet light is a type of electromagnetic radiation. One particular subtype, called UV-C (which has a wavelength of 280-100 nanometers), is capable of damaging viruses and bacteria (and human tissue) by disrupting their DNA/RNA, rendering them unable to replicate. In response to the pressure from the COVID-19 outbreak, hospitals are using large UV lamps (sometimes attached to robots) to sterilize rooms.

Sanitizr has taken the technology used in hospitals and condensed it into a smaller, portable package. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to sanitize surfaces or kills pathogens in their home or office. It’s an ideal size for sweeping over doorknobs, keyboards, or other smaller surfaces often shared by many hands, though with patience you could use the wand to sanitize much larger areas, like kitchen counters, couches, or beds. The wand has a USB cord and it can be connected via adapter to an AC outlet or run using a portable battery, making it a fine choice for the person who has to travel or for sterilizing products you are about to buy and bring home.

The team at Sanitizr previously found the UV-C method effective in inactivating the airborne H1N1 influenza virus, as well as drug-resistant bacteria. And multiple, long-term studies on animals and humans have confirmed that exposure to far-UVC does not cause damage to the skin or eyes.
